About the Maltese Region
farmhouses, hotels, villas and village houses
It is here that Malta rightly gained the reputation for some of the best beach holidays in the world. There are great facilities for watersport lovers, from boating to diving.
Northern Gozo is a haven of tranquility due to it's slower pace of life. The lanscape is characterised by rugged cliffs, steep valleys and terraced fields, while the coastline and beaches remain natural and pictuesque.
Malta's in-crowd are drawn to this area, the perfect location to eat, drink and shop. There are plenty of activities on offer, from harbour trips to gastronomic eating. Sliema is still where the well-heeled of Malta escape the hustle and bustle of Valletta.
Gozo has an air of exclusivity, with a lack of package holiday makers. Instead, the locals offer a range of luxury hotels and converted farmhouses, all with easy access to excellent beaches, restaurants and bars. The scenery is greener and the pace of life is slower than Malta - if you are looking to be pampered away from the bustle of everyday life, this is the place to come. From here, it is highly recommended that you make the short trip over to the blue lagoons of Comino.
The tiny capital of Malta is bursting with charm and character. It's history packed streets, squares and alleyways are well worth a visit and the endless photo opportunities are enough to wear out even your brand new digital camera!
