It enjoys spectacular, panoramic views across Mellieha Bay and the Mediterranean Sea. The nearby, picturesque village has restaurants, bars and supermarkets and it is only a five minute drive to the best sandy beach in Malta.
This lovely villa has been comfortably, traditionally furnished to a good standard and provides an idyllic location for a memorable holiday in Malta. The living room is open plan to the dining area and there is a separate well equipped kitchen. Vista Mediterranean has three bedrooms. There are two attractive bedrooms in the main villa which share a family bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has a single bed. On a lower level is a self contained apartment with a double bedroom, shower room and kitchenette. The villa benefits from having local Melita cable television which allows clients to enjoy several English channels.
Patio doors lead from the livingroom onto the large, attractive sun terrace which surrounds the 6 x 4.5 metre swimming pool accessed by ladder steps. Due to a low perimeter wall surrounding the terrace, parental supervision would be needed for small children. From here guests can enjoy the most wonderful views of the sea. Patio furniture and a barbeque make it the perfect place for days and long evenings of alfresco dining and relaxation while enjoying the superb views and sublime Maltese climate.Due to the villa's hillside position and that the villa is accessed via three flights of steps to the front door, it is not suitable for the elderly or those with walking difficulties.
For guests staying longer than seven nights there is a weekly maid service. A refundable security and breakage deposit is payable on arrival in the villa.
Villa Vista Mediterranean is situated in the north west of Malta in the exclusive and sought after Santa Maria Estate, on the edge of Mellieha. Mellieha is one of Malta’s most picturesque villages boasting a number of restaurants, bars and night spots. Also within the village are supermarkets and a shopping centre. The largest sandy beach on Malta, Ghadira Bay, is easily reached just a five minutes drive.
Northern Malta, which until the end of the nineteenth century was a sparsely populated region has been subject to considerable development in the last forty years. In the past, attacks from coastal invaders forced the communities living by the sea to move further inland with the only buildings present being the coastal watchtowers that had been constructed by the Knights as a network guarding the coast. Coastal development only started to take place after the arrival of the British forces at the beginning of the 19th century. The economic benefits of tourism have been the driving force behind this, as is evident in the northern towns such as Bugibba, Qawra, Mellieha and St Paul's. Not surprisingly, the economy of the area is largely dependent on the tourism industry, with its beaches being the main drawcard. Relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun, while sipping drinks in the numerous bars sprouting up by the dozen yearly is the favorite pastime here but, more exercise-orientated travellers have a multitude of hiking trails, as well as watersports to choose from.
Melina is a small town in the extreme north of the island and has been a popular holiday spot for both Maltese and Europeans for quite some time. Mellieha has an excellent setting, with the high rising church on top of the hill overlooking its shimmering blue bay and popular beach. There are a number of hotels, restaurants and tourist-oriented services and till now has been careful to preserve its peaceful atmosphere typical of the town of old. as it is away from the more activity-orientated centres of the island. Boat trips out to Gozo and Comino operate from Cirkewwa, on the outskirts of Melli.
This is the parish church of Mellieha and is set on the highest point of the town, dominating the skyline from the beach and all around the vicinity. Behind the altar, there is a painting by Cali here, one of Malta's most renowned artists. The sanctuary set in a small grotto under the church contains a painting of the Virgin Mary that locals claim to have been painted by the apostle St Luke, a doctor by profession, who is said to have accompanied St Paul when he was shipwrecked on Malta in the year 60 A.D.eha, including the Gozo channel ferry service.
All international flights to Malta operate into Luqa airport. Maltese national airline Air Malta offer weekly flights from a good range of the UK regional airports. Additionally, there are several operators offering charter flights to Malta, but the island has so far stayed off limits for budget airlines.
